Yes, the omelet tells us loud and clear that there was an egg first. Plus, it also tells us that the egg broke.
The prior setup of the material universe (itself immaterial) broke.
Don't find it in the Big Bang model though. These folks cannot think well because they never were taught to think in structures.
The interesting part is that the egg ended up breaking itself. That is possible because it had an ability that it lost when the setup broke. What that ability was? No idea. Yet when a toy breaks, we know that nothing got added or subtracted from the toy; it just ended up in pieces. The special ability of the toy is now gone for good, however.
So, we know two things about the prior state of the universe. The set up broke, and the ability to break it was used up.
