Excellent question, and I see you are explaining the outcome inside-out, Aaron. I have to explain the model to you better.

The depression in the center is itself not spinning. It is the Wall of the Eye of the Hurricane that is spinning, and it spins at the maximum of all wind gusts ever measured on planet Earth.

What the washing machine shows is that there are two different outcomes depending on the spin. The slower the spin, the more can collect in the center. The faster the spin, nothing will end up sticking in the center spot.

-

The Black Eye model has that faster speed, and we have therefore nothing spinning in the center. Gravity-wise, we see a net-zero in the center.

Yet the Wall of the Eye is the greatest gravitational reality in the entire galaxy. It is the first spot where something is found.

So, we have 0 in the center, 1 (representing the max) right around it, and then further out this gravitational monster dissipates relatively quickly.

The laundry machine is a single entity, just like planet Earth is a single entity. Therefore the washing machine helps in understanding the situation but is not equal to the situation because a galaxy is a collective of masses, not a single mass.

-

When we look at the image of the Black Hole/Black Eye, then the Black Eye model explains it as follows:

The photons going straight for the Eye will not make it to and through the Eye. The gravitational Wall will push these photons sideways. The Eye itself will therefore be black because no photon can complete its path in a straight line.

The photons diverted into our direction are the donut of light we see.

The Eye is black. The Wall is the donut of light.
