Matter had to have a beginning.
However, Energy, Space and Time need not have their beginning with Matter's beginning.
By separating what we know for a fact (matter came around some 13.8 billion years ago) and what we are empty-handed about (we have no data about the beginning of Energy, Time or Space), we can understand better what we are talking about.
This focusing on the data is what I am using to establish the Big Whisper theory (similar to the Big Bang, but distinct enough it must have its own name):
