Physicists suck at engineering. They do not understand mechanics and they devised a model that is structurally incorrect. No wonder we will end up rejecting the Big Bang model. It's a guarantee when you start with an incorrect model.
The very first time I heard that physicists considered finding the theory of everything, I fell off my chairs (figuratively speaking). Physicists stating that there can be a unified field of forces is like acknowledging that God exists and is well alive, unchanged from before, thank you.
Why are the smartest people of their specialities guiding us in understanding the big picture? Aren't they the specialists for a reason? The generalists should be doing the talking, they see the big picture. Unfortunately, no one gives them the microphone.

Physicists should of course be invited to help the generalists explain the big picture. Physicists should not, however, and let me repeat this with never, deliver the big picture. They are not equipped to do that. Their brains are not trained to see the big picture. After all, they are the specialists.

Yes, we live in a result. So, yes, there was a prior state that we know very little about (other than it being necessary for the results).
Yet here is a structural storyline that must be in place for matter to be a result.
A/ The result is like the omelet. Anyone not talking about breaking the egg prior has no right to stand in front of the microphone. Any person talking about the Big Bang model should be muted because it says nothing about breaking the egg that made us get the omelet. Lesson: Don't propagate a dumb idea even when a million specialists all say the same thing.
B/ When a toy is wound up too much so the mechanism breaks, we know that the breakage is the end of the special trick it was capable of doing. But it does not mean the parts are annihilated, so we do not need to talk about an annihilated beginning for matter. Any physicist not talking about the special reality prior to the occurrence of matter has to be kept away from the microphone. They have no idea what they are talking about because they are specialists only.
C/ The largest reality we are aware of in our universe is space. It is the only quality that we know is infinite. Nothing but space is infinite in our universe. It is the biggest clue that specialists are unable to see. They cannot see what has disappeared. They can only see what is there. Space declares loud and clear that we are not in the original state of the universe and that we lost something therefore quite important: that unified field of forces got lost, exactly the opposite of what these specialist believers cling to.
D/ In plain English: God may have been God as we want to understand God to exist. Yet as soon as God created creation, God is not any longer the same either. We cannot have God be intact and establish an additional creation next to God. That is faulty thinking.
Physicists have no idea how to consider the big picture because they reject and reject and reject what they cannot point to themselves in their specialties and they do not listen to the generalists. They do not understand the generalists. They refuse to talk to the generalists until the data tells them that they were wrong all along.
