Modern societies lie when they say they are modern but they are not modern when they are not built on modern principles.

That means the UK is not a modern society because they still have winner-take-all and not a single shred of full representation. They are not a modern nation (which we knew already). It's a medieval class society that looks ultra modern.

The USA, too, is not a modern nation, because they have winner-take-all for all governmental levels. The poor live on the dirt, but the majority and certainly the rich live in ultra modern environments.

Actually, when I come to think of it, very few nations have the real deal.
